Floravelle (Thesis Game)

Your Heart, Your Choice is a stylized 3D interactive world following Haru and her companion Pesto as they transition from an isolated mountain life into a vibrant city environment.

The project explores themes of social anxiety, personal growth, and connection through environmental storytelling, character design, and interactive systems such as navigation, delivery mechanics, and world-building elements.

Players experience Floravelle as a blend of peaceful nature and urban life, shaping their journey through exploration, movement, and everyday interactions.

This game was made with Blender and unity.

Bike Design: From Reference to Stylized Low-Poly Asset

This process documents the translation of real-world reference into a simplified, stylized 3D model. The Vespa was designed using clean geometry and modular forms to match the game’s visual language while maintaining readability and functionality for in-game traversal.

Haru's Character Design

Character design focuses on expressive, stylized forms that match the playful and emotional tone of the world. Each character is designed with simple shapes, bold silhouettes, and personality-driven details to support storytelling through movement and interaction.

World Design

The world design explores a transition from isolation to connection, reflecting Haru’s journey from a quiet, mountainous environment to a more active and social urban setting. The environment is divided into two contrasting regions: a calm, nature-driven island and a structured metropolitan area, connected by a central bridge that symbolizes movement between comfort and challenge.

To support this narrative, I developed modular environments that balance openness and density. Wide, peaceful landscapes encourage exploration, while tighter urban layouts introduce navigation and interaction. The player’s Vespa acts as a key traversal tool, allowing smooth movement across spaces and reinforcing the sense of freedom as Haru adapts to her new surroundings.

The overall design focuses on creating a cohesive and stylized world where environmental storytelling, scale, and layout reflect emotional progression. By contrasting natural and urban elements, the world supports both gameplay exploration and character development, encouraging players to engage with the environment as part of Haru’s personal growth.
